Following Dr.'s orders, we changed the dressings on Russ's hands daily and kept them out of the "Mississippi River water". Each day they looked better and better.
We enjoyed Russ and Sid's brother being with us the 1st wk. After we took them to airport on Fri. we picked up our truck and boat trailer from Hastings Marina and left them at the Winonia Marina. Today after worshipping at the Winonia Communty Church, we started out with fresh supplies and clean laundry and made 30 miles downstream to La Crosse, Wis. Saw beautiful homes along the way and waited 1 hr. for a tug to push 12 coal barges through lock #7.
Tara and Chris and Al, your Mn. people are so friendly and helpful. You would be proud.

I love the pics and the great stories! Looks like a great adventure. Now you've go Matt daydreaming about cruising the Mississippi too. Can't wait to read more...
Safe travels,
Norene
Hey Norene, Sid is ready to fix Matt up with a good boat. WE have gone 300 miles and have decided that we have had enough. we have seen some wonderful sights and understand this river a lot better and we have a "big" respect for these mighty waters. But we are ready to deport and go on to some other adventure. The river is more treacherous than we thought it would be but God has had our guradian angels working overtime. Maybe we just need to be younger. But we are not looking in back. It has been a great adventure. Hope to haul out about Davenport, IA and head home via Kansas City. Trying to contact Alana and Jenn and stop by to see the twins.
Lov ya, Genelle
