Arrived Hastings, Mn. (south of St. Paul) Sat. Aug. 1st. Set up boat and picked up Russ and brother Gary Pennington at airport on Sun. aft. and finally launched on the mighty Miss. River on Mon. aft. Aug. 3rd, 09.
Made 24 miles the first day to Red Wing, Mn. (home of Red Wing shoes).
Movin' on down the River on Tues. to Pepin, Wis. birthplace of Laura Ingalls Wilder. Watched sunset over marina.
